TomTom is the World's leading brand for personal navigation. Since the introduction of TomTom GO in 2004, more than 30 million Personal Navigation Devices (PNDs) have been sold. In 2008, TomTom introduced the first 'connected' PND – allowing for services such as smart routing; based on real-time traffic information, received by a built-in SIM card. Recently TomTom announced turn-by-turn navigation on Windows Mobile and the iPhone, which are the first steps in embracing mobile platforms for on-board navigation.
